We had a fun October getting ready for Halloween. The kids loved decorating the house with window clings, pumpkins, a skeleton, and lights. Eliza painted a few decorations and made pictures at school. We decorated a haunted halloween gingerbread house and sugar cookies. We put pumpkin face stickers on small pumpkins and carved a big jack-o-lantern. The Friday before Halloween Eliza had a party in her class at school. I got a babysitter for JJ and took Luke to the party. He knows her teacher and had so much fun with her friends. Then we had great time watching the parade of all the kids in their costumes. That night the school had a carnival with games and treats. Eliza loved seeing her friends and getting prizes. Eliza and Luke had been counting down the days until they could go trick-or-treating.
Eliza was a witch. She painted her face green and wore a wig on Halloween night.
Luke was Spiderman. He loved being a hero and flexing his muscles.
Jameson was a garden gnome. His costume was a little small so he was busting out of it and his beard was hilarious.
Our neighborhood is great because we know most people and the houses are not too far apart. So we walked until Luke got tired. Then I drove Eliza to another neighborhood to do more becaue she is a die-hard. She did not want to stop. I guess the idea of getting free candy is pretty awesome. Luckily the weather was nice, no rain and it was pretty warm for the end of October. We had so much fun!
